Congrats to LJ Hoes. Not trying to diminish his call up in the least, but why him and not a kid like Dylan Bundy who has been killing it in the minors, is Strasburg-esque, and hasnt been shut down yet? For those of you who are unaware, he had a huge writeup in SI a few weeks back. Is this just a tip of a hat to a local kid who is a solid (.300/.375) hitter or does he have real major league potential? Again, not attacking the call-up, more asking as someone who is a passive baseball fan and doesnt fully know.

And FB champ, nice pop warner level humor there. Im sure you classmates in fifth grade will appreciate it.

Dcjon- baseball 101, you don't call up a stud pitcher that just threw 103 innings. The most innings he's ever pitched in season. C'mon man your smarter than that. Congrats LJ !!!!!

Yeah, but they said they would shut him down at 120-130, why not bring him up, have em throw 2 dozen and get a taste of the majors?

I see your point the advantage of getting the experience..but maybe they are worried about the mental aspect if he gets clobbered in the Bigs because of a tired arm?

I think a better question is why wasn't LJ called up when Avery was last year?

so    sb cs    avg  obp   slg  ops go

554 Games Minors LJ

called up before Avery

552 games minors Avery

 It past due IMO

@Sagittarius

 LJ had better stats across the board except for stealing and IMO should of been called up earlier THIS year before Avery.

starting out as an infielder is why he wasn't. IMO
